A book jacket design for the novel Night by Elie Wiesel. Night is a 1956 memoir by Elie Wiesel that recounts his experiences during the Holocaust alongside his father in the Nazi concentration camps of Auschwitz and Buchenwald concentration camp between 1944 and 1945, near the end of World War II in Europe. First published in 1956, Night is landmark memoir that deeply influenced public understanding of the Holocaust. Through its honest and powerful portrayal of life in Nazi death camps, the book bridged the gap  between impersonal historical facts and the human suffering  behind them. It reshaped conversations about trauma, inspired worldwide human rights advocacy, and reinforced the moral  responsibility of bearing witness to injustice. When creating the design, I knew it was important to approach the subject matter with sensitivity because of the heavy subject matter. Rather than using graphic or overly literal visuals, I chose more  nuanced imagery with an emphasis on typography.
